Doodle Dash

A drawing game that gives you 60 seconds and as many prompts as you can get through. Draw, press Next, draw again — and keep every sketch on one sheet at the end.

  1. A prompt appears. Draw it as fast as you can.
  2. Press Next for a new one — the old drawing is kept.
  3. After 60 seconds everything you drew comes back as one sheet.

How to play

  1. Pick a difficulty and press start

    Easy prompts are single objects with a clear outline. Hard ones are whole scenes you have no chance of finishing in 60 seconds — which is the fun of it. Nothing is saved between runs, so there is no wrong choice.

  2. Draw the prompt, then press Next

    The clock never stops. Every time you press Next the current drawing is kept and a new prompt appears, so the only way to get more sketches on your sheet is to finish faster. Anything under ten seconds earns a speed bonus.

  3. Save the sheet

    When the timer runs out, every drawing you made comes back as one image — the sketches, the prompts and your score on a single sheet of paper. Save it, or run it back and try to beat the number.

Why 60 seconds is the right amount of time

Most people who say they cannot draw are describing a different problem: they cannot start. The line has to be good, so the line never gets made. A timer removes that entirely — at this speed there is no version of the drawing that is going to be good, so you may as well get the shape down and move on.

It is the same reason gesture drawing is taught with a thirty second limit in art schools. Speed forces you to look for the one thing that makes a subject recognisable — the arc of a cat's back, the two triangles that turn a rectangle into a sailboat — instead of the details you would otherwise hide behind. Do this for a week and slow drawings get better too.

What is on the sheet

Every sketch you finished, in order, with the prompt underneath it and your score in the corner. It is one PNG, sized to whatever you drew, and it never leaves your device unless you decide to send it somewhere. Print it, put it on a fridge, or start a folder and watch the sheets get less embarrassing.

What is Doodle Dash?
Doodle Dash is a single-player drawing game that lasts 60 seconds. A drawing prompt appears, you draw it, you press Next, and another prompt appears — as many as you can get through before the clock runs out. At the end, every sketch you made is laid out on one sheet you can save as an image.
Do I need an account, or does it work on a phone?
No account and no download. The whole game runs in the browser tab, so it works the same on a phone, a tablet with a pen, or a laptop with a mouse. Nothing you draw is uploaded — the final sheet is put together on your own device.
How is the score worked out?
Every sketch you actually draw is worth points based on the difficulty you picked — ten for easy, fifteen for medium, twenty for hard — plus a five point bonus if you finished that prompt in under ten seconds. Prompts you skip without drawing anything are worth nothing, so pressing Next over and over will not get you a score.
Where do the prompts come from?
Every prompt comes from the same hand-written list of 440 drawing ideas used by our other tools, filtered to the difficulty you chose. Nothing is generated by AI, and a prompt will not repeat until the whole pile for that difficulty has been used up.
Can I play it with other people?
This one is built for one player and one screen, although passing a phone around and comparing sheets works well. Online rooms where several people draw at once are on the way — the drawing games guide has the ones that already exist elsewhere.
